By Road
A66 or M6 to Penrith (M6 junction 40).
Take A66 west towards Keswick.
Do not turn off into Keswick - continue on A66 to a large roundabout (17 miles from M6).
Continue on A66 for just over 1 mile, past another left turn to Keswick, and turn left (signposted Grange, Portinscale).
Continue for 600m, then turn left where the road swings sharply to the right.
Derwent Hill is on the right after 100m, beyond the Derwentwater Hotel.
By public transport
Keswick is served by hourly buses (2-hourly on Sundays) from rail stations at Penrith, Windermere and Workington.

On foot from Keswick
Derwent Hill is 1 mile from Keswick. You can walk or take a taxi.
From the bus station, walk along the side of the supermarket to a mini-roundabout.
Turn left and walk over the river bridge.
Turn immediately left, between the river & Italian restaurant, then turn right onto footpath.
Follow the surfaced footpath across the fields to the footbridge, cross this to Derwent Hill.
