Our Customers

Our customers are the most important people in our working lives!  Our core purpose is to provide high quality Outdoor Education residentials for the young people of Sunderland.  We were delighted to see many of our regular schools, as well as new schools enjoying our DiscoverExplore, Challenge or John Muir courses.

This year, we were delighted to continue our close working relationship with Nissan and to welcome new clients Hydram & Initiativez on Management Development and Teambuilding courses.

We regularly welcome social and recreational groups such as The U3A Strollers and Monkseaton Wine Appreciation Society.  If you are a member of a group that would like to come to Derwent Hill or have a family occasion to celebrate, why not take a look at the Groups page .  Look out for offers on our website and social media streams.

This year we hosted the UIAA (International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation) Spring Meeting and a social weekend for the teachers at St Anne’s Primary School, amongst others.

Anne Marie & Boyd celebrated their 60th Birthdays at Derwent Hill in December with 75 people taking over the whole of Derwent Hill for a short break.

On the Campsite, we have had groups from Sunderland Schools and Colleges as well as companies such as Utility Wise and social groups such as Sunderland Mountaineering club.

The Educational Visits Advisory Service continues to grow.  We  offer advice and guidance on school visits for all Sunderland schools, the majority of Cumbrian schools as well as some Hartlepool schools.  EVC training courses include EVC Training & Revalidation as well as Visit Leader Training.  Contact us if you would like to discuss a training event for your school.
