Autumn at Derwent Hill

Every season is special in the Lake District each with its own distinct characteristic both in terms of the life of the centre and in the changes in the natural environment.

At the start of September we see the schools and corporate clients returning (after a summer of holiday events & different courses).

For schools it’s often a time for teachers to meet their new classes & get to know their pupils / students.

We start getting ready to take bookings for the next academic year (2016 / 2017) & this year we’ve been working on getting this website ready to go live.

The nature of the Lake District starts to change with the summer holiday crowds disappearing the hills lakes & gorges are quieter.

The weather in autumn can be amazing with misty mornings & sunny days and as the trees start to turn colour we are often rewarded with memorable days.
